On 12 January 2009 at approximately 11 a.m. 56-year-old Ibrahim Valiyev, a resident of Heydarabad village in the Sadarek Region of Nakhchivan who complained about police arbitrariness, and his wife Turkan Valiyeva, were taken to the Sadarek Police Department by police.

Ismayil Hasanov’s wife, II degree invalid Khanimzar Abo gizi, and son, I degree invalid Hasanov Elvin, are missing.

Today (3 January) a group of Sadarak region Heydarabad village residents who complained to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Autonomous Republic Internal Minister A.Ahmadov about illegal actions of Sadarak region Police Department Chief Fariz Mammadov, Deputy Chief Dagbeyi Alakbarov and Criminal Investigation Department Chief Anar Aliyev were taken to Sadarak region Police Department and were subjected to pressure. Police asked the residents to take their complaints back.
